Jessica Bravo, MSW
Jessica earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree with Summa Cum Laude honors from Appalachian State University and as part of the inaugural Beaver Scholars. Currently, she is pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). She serves as the Graduate Social Work Association (GSWA) Advanced Standing Student Representative and as a graduate research assistant for ReCast, Summer 2021. She has eight years of experience in social services, working primarily with the Spanish-speaking community. As the daughter of immigrants and growing up in Costa Rica, she has also personally experienced the lack of cultural awareness and the barriers it imposes on the Latinx community. She is passionate about mental health education, behavioral health services, and breaching the language gap amongst the Latinx community.
